These egg rolls are golden, crunchy, and packed with savory filling. Made with simple ingredients, they’re perfect as an appetizer, snack, or party treat.


🛒 Ingredients (Makes 8–10 egg rolls)

Filling

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage

  • ½ cup shredded carrots

  • ½ cup cooked protein (pork, chicken, shrimp, or tofu), finely chopped

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Wrapping & Frying

  • 8–10 egg roll wrappers

  • 1–2 tablespoons water (for sealing edges)

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Optional:

  • Sweet chili sauce, duck sauce, or soy sauce for dipping


🔪 Step 1: Prep the Filling

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add a splash of oil.

  3. Sauté garlic and ginger 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. Add protein, cook 2–3 minutes until heated.

  5. Add cabbage, carrots, and green onions. Stir-fry 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.

  6. Season with soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.

  7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.


🥟 Step 2: Assemble Egg Rolls

  1. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with one corner pointing toward you (diamond shape).

  2. Spoon ~2 tablespoons of filling near the bottom corner.

  3. Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold in sides.

  4. Roll tightly toward the top corner.

  5. Seal edge with a dab of water.
